Siberian Huskies were first imported to Alaska from their native Siberia at the turn of the century to help transport goods over vast stretches of frozen tundra. Known for their affectionate nature and willingness to work with harness teams, they are highly valued for their blue eyes and their beautiful thick coats. Their coloring ranges from dark gray through silver to black with distinctive markings and white faces, chests and bellies. Although their normal habitat is Alaska, they are also found in other parts of North America. Huskies make wonderful pets if exercised regularly and treated right.
